Today, VIP Internet Stable LLC announced that Dean Keppler and Brett Sturman, who bring years of experience in horseracing, have joined VIP Stable as client service managers.

Are You Interested in Buying a Yearling?

A great place to pick up a quality yearling is at the Standardbred Canada Yearling Sale. Pedigrees for the 2010 Canadian Yearling Sale are now available online.

Prospective yearling buyers have advanced search features to display only the yearlings you wish to view. Simply narrow your search criteria with the menus located directly above the sale roster and hit Submit. The resulting display can show horses by consignor, sire, gait or sex - or a combination of these options.

Set for Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12, a total of 320 yearlings will enter the SC Sales Pavilion at Flamboro Downs. The action begins at 12 p.m. each day.

Chevron Hanover Torches Woodstock

Chevron Hanover came first-over and drew off to win in a sparkling time of 1:53.4 for driver Stuart Sowerby and trainer Brian Lee. The previous record of 1:54.2 was set by Northern Dynasty on June 22, 2002.

Sowerby was in no hurry with the seven-year-old son of Astreos-Cheyenna Mae, but that wasn’t the case for Stonebridge Gem. That foe hit the quarter in :27.1 before backing down the pace in the second quarter. He hit the half in :56.4, and soon came under attack from Chevron Hanover. Sowerby had no problem putting away Stonebridge Gem at the three-quarter pole in 1:25.4, and Chevron Hanover used a :28-second final frame to win by 15 lengths. Road Ranger was second and Jakes Buddy finished third.

Shaws Creek Stable of Orangeville, ON holds the papers on Chevron Hanover, who won for the fourth time this season and for the 23rd time in his career. He has banked more than $226,000 to date.
